Lower Makefield EAC to host Styrofoam and recycling event


LOWER MAKEFIELD : The Lower Makefield Environmental Advisory Council will begin the New Year with a Styrofoam and recycling event to be held on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lower Makefield Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley 19067.

The event will be accepting clean, white Styrofoam used for shipping (no food packaging or packing peanuts). Exact Solar will take the Styrofoam to a factory to be remade into picture frames and furniture trim. The event will also accept natural and synthetic corks, which will be used by craft artists and for building material.

Also accepted will be clean pill bottles with tops. Please remove all labels and any glue and wash with soap and water. Pill bottles (amber and white plastic) will be sent to Mathew25:Ministries to be reused as medical supplies in developing countries.  Also accepted will be household batteries (AAA, AA, C, D and 9 Volt) disposable or rechargeable.
