Johnson County to Host Document Shredding and Electronics Recycling Event


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Johnson County will host a document shredding and electronics recycling collection event. The event will be held in partnership with Johnson County Recycling District and Shares, Inc. on 19th August, 2023 9 AM to 12 Noon at the county recycling center at 900 Arvin Road, Franklin.

The event will be open to Johnson County residents. The participation will be free of any charge. The documents will be collected in locked containers, which will be shredded at Shares, Inc Shelbyville facility. The event will also accept discarded electronic items except televisions and monitors.

The County will also host Tox Box Saturday event on Saturday, August 19, 2023 9 AM to 12 Noon at Tox Box, 1051 Hospital Rd, Franklin, which will be open for Johnson County residents alone. The event will accept residential quantities only, while large truckloads of materials will be turned away. The residents are required to do prior booking of time slots through website and are allowed to drop off only during the time-frame allotted to them. No businesses or contractors will be accepted.

The accepted items include household cleaning supplies, yard and pool chemicals, automotive fluids, poisons, aerosol can, adhesives, oil-based paint and stain. However, latex paint, batteries, or light bulbs will not be accepted.
