Interchange Recycling Opened New Permanent Collection Site in Whitehorse, Yukon


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Victoria, B.C. - headquartered Interchange Recycling announced opening of new permanent collection site in Whitehorse, Yukon. The site, located at 91972 Alaska Highway, Whitehorse YT, was opened on Friday, August 1, 2025. This marks its first expansion beyond B.C.

The opening of the new collection site will enable Interchange Recycling to launch its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program to a new jurisdiction. The site will accept a wide range of materials from Yukon residents for recycling, including lubricating oil, antifreeze, diesel exhaust fluid, oil filters, and all automotive containers.

In order to reach additional residents across the territory, Interchange Recycling will support collection events outside of Whitehorse. Accordingly, collection events has been scheduled from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 1022 Alaska Highway, Watson Lake on Sept 13th and Ross Road, Faro on Sept 20th.

Commenting on the development, Jenn Robson, Director of Operations, Interchange Recycling said that it is incredibly excited to officially be up and running in Yukon. It marks a major milestone for our organization and for Extended Producer Responsibility in the territory. Additionally, it is proud to offer residents across Yukon convenient, reliable access to responsible recycling options, Robson added.
