Hauler Filco Carting Expands Footprints into New Jersey

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Filco Carting has started two residential contracts in New Jersey, thus expanding its presence to the state. The hauler has been serving New York for almost a century. It must be noted that Filco Carting had received license last month to operate in New Jersey.

The first is the $1.4 million emergency contract with the City of Paterson towards providing residential waste collection through end-March this year. The hauler could be awarded a five-year contract worth up to $25 million if the city wins a lawsuit filed by its former hauler, alleging that Filco’s bid submission was materially defective. The next court hearing is scheduled for March 2024.

The second is the contract for residential waste and recycling collection in the borough of Cresskill.

The contract in Paterson was previously held by Suburban Disposal, whereas that of Cresskill was held by Interstate Waste Services.

Domenic Monopoli, President and CEO, Filco Carting had earlier described the expansion to New Jersey as “the next frontier”. New Jersey was cited as the most logical place to expand its business as Filco’s executive team was born and raised in New Jersey and also because the contacts of many of its executive team members could help the company expand its footprints in the state.
