SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): GFL Environmental Inc. has announced the successful completion of its acquisition of Frontier Waste Solutions, strengthening its footprint across Texas with a network of 24 solid waste facilities. The acquired assets include a fleet of more than 650 vehicles and a workforce of nearly 1,000 employees, significantly enhancing GFL’s operational scale in the region.
The deal marks a strategic expansion into the rapidly growing Texas Triangle, where rising population and economic activity are driving increased demand for waste management services. Frontier’s CEO John Gustafson and key leadership will continue to oversee operations, with stakeholders reinvesting $100 million into GFL shares, signaling confidence in the combined entity’s growth prospects.
According to CEO Patrick Dovigi, the acquisition complements GFL’s existing operations while positioning the company for strong revenue growth. The company has also completed seven additional tuck-in acquisitions this year, which are expected to generate between $425 million and $450 million in annualized revenue.
GFL financed these deals through a mix of credit facilities, cash reserves, and equity issuance, while maintaining its targeted leverage ratio and advancing its long-term growth strategy.
