GFL Environmental Acquired Florida-Based Angelo’s Recycled Materials

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): GFL Environmental announced that it has acquired Florida-based C&D company, Angelo’s Recycled Materials. The acquisition of the company with multiple transfer stations and a C&D landfill is expected to further expand GFL’s position in the Florida market.

Talking to investors, Patrick Dovigi, CEO, GFL Environmental noted that the acquisition of the great family business is likely to help the company in adding its business in a growing market. The deal would account for almost 50% of the company’s total spending on mergers and acquisitions for the current year, he added.

Angelo’s operates seven facilities across multiple central Florida counties, in addition to the landfill site in Dade City, according to their website. The company offers a wide range of services including roll-off dumpster service, asbestos disposal, tire disposal and recycled aggregates.

GFL Environmental had reported a total of 39 acquisitions during the previous year. The company has been expanding its Florida footprints through acquisitions over the past several years. It had acquired assets from WM, Advanced Disposal Services and WCA Waste. The latest acquisition is expected to help GFL extend its holdings in the Tampa area.
