Ecowaste Expands Gulf Coast Footprint with MDI Waste Operations Acquisition

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Ecowaste Solutions has acquired select solid waste collection and disposal operations from Mark Dunning Industries (MDI) across Alabama, Florida and Mississippi, strengthening its footprint along the U.S. Gulf Coast. The transition was confirmed in an April 1 letter to customers.

The carve-out deal includes MDI’s commercial, residential and industrial waste services, while the company will retain its government and U.S. military contracts. Key assets in the transaction include the Rosehill Transfer Station and a construction and demolition landfill in Midland City, Alabama, along with approximately 82 vehicles and 35,000 containers.

Backed by Kinderhook Industries, Ecowaste continues its rapid expansion strategy across the Southeast. Formed in early 2026 through the combination of Live Oak Environmental and Cards Recycling, the company now serves over 500,000 customers weekly through more than 120 municipal contracts.

The acquisition expands Ecowaste’s presence into new markets such as Dothan and Brundidge in Alabama, Fort Walton Beach in Florida and Gulfport in Mississippi. It also adds 41 daily routes and strengthens disposal capacity with long-term landfill airspace.

Company CEO Dustin Reynolds said the deal establishes a key regional platform and enhances operational efficiency, pricing flexibility and future growth opportunities across the Gulf Coast corridor.
