SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Culver City has announced a community E-waste and Paper Shredding Event scheduled for Saturday, February 7, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offering residents and local businesses a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of unwanted electronics and sensitive documents.
The drive-up, drop-off event allows participants to conveniently dispose of electronic waste, with on-site staff available to assist with unloading items from vehicles. Organizers will accept most electronic devices, although refrigerators, thermostats, and air conditioners are excluded.
All collected e-waste will be processed using environmentally sustainable recycling practices, supporting job creation for individuals facing employment barriers.

Certified recycler Homeboy Recycling will oversee electronic waste handling, including data destruction, asset recovery, and repair services. All hard drives and data storage devices will be destroyed according to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, ensuring maximum data security.
In addition, paper shredding services will be provided following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance standards. Each vehicle may drop off up to six boxes of documents.
The event is exclusively open to Culver City residents and businesses, and participants must provide proof of local residency or business location.
