Colorado Announced Fifth Consecutive Year of NextCycle Program


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) announced fifth year of NextCycle Program- a program aimed at boosting businesses with innovative solutions for repurposing recyclable materials. The applications for the program will close on 1st December, 2023.

NextCycle Program offers a six-month long accelerator program for businesses and entrepreneurs who wish to grow their recycling businesses and operations. The selected teams will be provided no-cost consulting support, participation in a boot camp, and an opportunity to present themselves to funders at a pitch competition, which in turn may help them win cash prize, CDPHE said.

Kendra Appelman-Eastvedt, Program Manager,CDPHE stated that it is thrilled to unveil the upcoming NextCycle Colorado opportunity, which will help it to achieve the previously stated waste diversion goals. The business accelerator program will ignite growth in recycling, organics recovery, and reuse markets, she added.

The initial four years of the program witnessed participation by as many as 34 teams. More than one-third of the participant teams received nearly $3 million in grant funding from CDPHE. Also, many of the teams managed to secure additional investments of more than $70 million.
