Clean Technology Company Received $10M Funding Support from SDTC

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has awarded $10 million funding support to Nano One- a clean technology company which produces high-performance cathode materials used in lithium-ion batteries using an environment-friendly patented process.

The funds will be used to help its efforts to convert the recently acquired Candiac facility to the patented One-Pot Process for industrial scale lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pilot production. The STDC funding will accelerate the piloting process, while providing necessary boost to achieve commercial production.

The STDC project will offer financial support for the design, construction, and operation of a multi-cathode piloting hub (MCPH) in advancing the various processes which are being developed independently by the company and also jointly with global cathode partners and automotive majors.

Commenting on the development, Dan Blondal, Chief Executive Officer, Nana One said that the funds will fast track the conversion of North America’s only LFP plant to the company’s patented One Pot process. Furthermore, it will help to showcase world-class cathode materials made in Canada by employing low-cost and low-emission techniques, Blondal added.
