The residents are required to remove all decorations, lights, tinsel and ornaments from trees prior to bringing them for recycling. All trees donated will be ground to mulch and will be used to beautify the parks and trails across Palm Coast.

Carol Mini, Palm Coast Urban Forester noted that many residents consider the Christmas Tree Recycling event a holiday tradition. The event signals a fresh start, encouraging people to clear out old paperwork and holiday trees from their homes, Mini added.

Also, the site will offer free professional paper shredding services for the benefit of residents. The collected materials will be recycled and used to produce new materials such as paper towels, tissues etc.
