Cirba Solutions Announced Expansion of Ohio Li-Ion Battery Processing Facility


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Cirba Solutions- the world’s leading diverse battery management and materials company announced major expansion to its Lancaster, Ohio lithium-ion battery processing facility. The expansion will be carried out at an investment of around $200 million and is expected to create 150 jobs in the greater Columbus area.

The expansion is a major step forward in Cirba’s journey to boost its recycled battery cathode production by 600% over the next four years. It is also in support of the U.S. strategy to boost the availability of domestically sourced battery materials.

Upon completion of the proposed expansion, the facility will turn out to be one of the largest battery recycling facilities in the entire North American region. This will equip the facility to be capable of producing battery-grade raw materials to power more than 200,000 new electric vehicles every year.

David Klanecky, president and CEO of Cirba Solutions noted that the expanded facility would supply battery grade metals sourced from end-of-life batteries to manufacturing facilities, contribute to local economy by creating well-paid jobs in the region and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Recently, the company had announced plans to build a 75,000-square-foot lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Eloy, Arizona. It aims to open seven facilities across North America by 2026.
