Calhoun County Announced Spring Cleaning Recycling Events


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Calhoun County announced a series of spring cleaning recycling events. The free collection events will be held in Battle Creek, Albion and Marshall and will be limited to only Calhoun County residents.

The first event is scheduled to be held on April 24, Monday Noon to 5.30 PM at Battle Creek, Bailey Park, 1350 Capital Ave. NE. The event will accept scrap metal, items with refrigerant such as refrigerators, mini-fridges, freezers, AC units, dehumidifiers, and water coolers, electronics, in addition to household hazardous waste.

The Albion recycling collection event will be held at Ketchum Field, 1203 E. North St. on May 8 from noon to 5.30 PM. The event will collect scrap passenger vehicle tires with or without rims, electronics and scrap metal. The number of accepted tires with rims may be limited.

Household hazardous waste will be collected at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds, 720 Fair St., Marshall on May 22 from 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM. The residents are required to enter the fairgrounds on Washington Street. The event will not accept latex paint, school chemicals, biologically active material, home-use insulation spraying cylinders, ammunitions, weapons, explosives, and radioactive material. Also, it does not include trash, tires, yard waste, construction/demolition waste, or industrial/business-generated waste.
