SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Berrien County Parks Department reported that 2024 was yet another successful year for its community recycling initiatives.
The Department held five recycling events last year, according to Jaysen Field, Berrien County Environmental Property Manager. These gatherings provided a special opportunity for County citizens to dispose of their unwanted goods in a sustainable and safe way, protecting the environment.

According on the information that is currently available, 1,985 individuals attended the activities. Nearly 43,000 pounds of electronic garbage, over 87,000 pounds of hazardous household waste, and almost 2,500 tires were collected for recycling throughout the activities.
Field expressed gratitude to the volunteers and park employees who helped make the event a big success. Grants were used to assist the recycling events. In addition to the activities, the county's two landfills have recycling drop-off points open all year long for locals to drop off their trash.
According to the parks department, preparation for recycling collecting activities in 2025 has already begun. It will hold five events at various venues throughout the county, just like in 2024. In order to prevent items from ending up in the waste stream, it encouraged locals to take part in these events.
