Baltimore County Announced Expanded Electronics Recycling Program

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) announced major expansion to its electronics recycling program. The expansion is being carried out in partnership with Securis- a leading e-waste recycling firm.

Accordingly the program will accept a wider range of electronic items at its recycling facilities. It will accept items such as CRT televisions with leaded glass, hard drives, and flat-screen monitors, which were previously unaccepted. In addition, modern devices such as drones, smart gadgets, biometric equipment like smartwatches, and even electric scooters will be accepted for recycling.

The County has been engaged in several attempts to promote innovative recycling. Earlier this year, the County had entered into a partnership with Helpsy to launch a new textile recycling program.

D'Andrea Walker, Director, DPWT said that the expanded electronics recycling program is designed to address future challenges as well. The aim of the program is to ensure a sustainable, eco-responsible future for the County, he added.

The Department urged all residents to take advantage of the enhanced service to get rid of their electronic waste.
