SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Arcwood Environmental has completed its third acquisition in six months with the purchase of Virginia-based MXI Environmental Services/Dynamic Recycling, strengthening its presence in the mid-Atlantic region and adding specialized capabilities in latex paint and solvent recycling.
The latest deal follows Arcwood’s acquisitions of New York-based Innovative Recycling Technologies and Michigan-based ERG Environmental Group last year, moves that have extended the company’s reach well beyond its Midwest roots. CEO HP Nanda said the strategy is aimed at building a truly national hazardous waste services platform, with newly acquired technologies gradually deployed across other regions.

Backed by EQT Infrastructure, Arcwood rebranded from Heritage Environmental in 2025 and has since accelerated growth through a combination of internal investments and mergers and acquisitions. The MXI transaction adds more than 150 employees and brings operations spanning a materials recovery facility, ethanol recycling plants, and a hazardous waste trucking business operating under Maumee Express.
Arcwood plans to expand MXI’s household hazardous waste programs into a nationwide offering. While currently a small share of revenue, Nanda said the segment has significant growth potential as the hazardous waste industry remains fragmented nationwide today.
