Allen County Announced Changes to Recycling Drop-Off Sites


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Allen County Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) announced changes to the Community Recycling Drop-off Site program. The changes are due to take effect on Monday, January 29, 2024.

According to news release, the site located at Little River Wetlands Project, 5000 Smith Road will move down the road to 6231 Macbeth Road. This site will remain open on all days of the week from 8 AM to 1 PM and from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM.

The ADEM announced change in hours of operation of the site located at 14701 Schwartz Road in Leo-Cedarville. The site will be open daily from dawn to dusk. As another major change, it announced that the site will no longer have an on-site attendant.

The other sites will operate with no change. The Monroeville,110 1/2 South Street site will remain open daily from 8 AM to 6 PM. The Northwest, 2 Fort Recovery Road site will be open Tuesday through Saturday 8 AM to 1 PM and from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM. Also, Republic Sevices, 2509 E. Pontiac Street site will be open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM.

The Department announced that it has discontinued the Clean Plastic Caps and Lids program. Accordingly, all collection totes at the drop-off sites will be removed. No alternative arrangement has been declared.
