Yolo County Announced Final Free Tire Recycling Event of 2022


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Yolo County in the U.S. state of California announced the last and final free tire recycling event of the year.

According to County press release, the recycling event is scheduled to be held this Saturday, 5th November from 9.30 am to 2.00 pm at the Clarksburg Corporation Yard at 51230 Clarksburg Road. The event is being funded with a grant from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). The County administration urged residents to bring in their used passenger car, truck, or farm tractor tires during the event.

The County Public Information Office noted that the residents must assure that tires are properly disposed of before the winter months.

The participants are allowed to bring up to nine tyres for recycling free of charge. The event will accept all passenger car, truck, and tractor tires with or without rims and that are air-filled with no solid areas. Those tires not accepted include heavy equipment tires, tires with over 60 inches diameter, tract tires, business-generated tires, or bins of tires. Farmers and ranchers, upon obtaining hauler permit, are allowed to transporting up to 20 tires per vehicle. The maximum limit for resident or farm is set as 40.

A total of 3,378 tires have already been collected by the County till date this year under the CalRecycle grant. It aims to collect as many as 5,000 tires before the end of 2022.
