SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): WM declared that it has successfully acquired the hauler Countrywide Sanitation, which is situated in North Dakota. September 1, 2025, marked the closing of the contract.
In Grand Forks, North Dakota; East Grand Forks, Minnesota; and the neighboring towns, Countrywide Sanitations provides waste and recycling pickup services for homes and businesses. It also offers a storage rental service in addition to roll-off and container rentals. Along with a recycling center and a landfill that takes yard garbage, construction debris, and other things, Countrywide also has a fleet of about 22 cars.

WM will assume Countrywide's residential hauling contract in East Grand Forks as part of the agreement. It should be mentioned that WM is present in the regions where Countrywide presently conducts business, in addition to other border towns like Fargo and North Dakota.
Rachel Gornowicz, the company's president, will oversee Countrywide's landfill operations and storage container business.
WM had previously declared that it will invest close to $500 million in acquisitions this year. In the first half of 2025, the company reportedly spent about $366 million on a number of acquisitions to expand its core business by acquiring smaller businesses.
