LIVINGSTON, NJ — As the winter holidays approach, the Township of Livingston reminds residents of holiday closures and changes to the garbage collection schedule for the end of the year.
All township offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 in recognition of the holidays. Offices will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
Garbage and recycling for those on a Monday/Thursday garbage pickup or Zone 4 recycling pickup schedule will be collected on their regular schedule. However, there will be no metal collection.
here will be no garbage collection on Sunday, Dec. 25 for Christmas Day or on Sunday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.
Garbage for those with Thursday/Sunday pickup will be collected on the next regularly scheduled day for both weeks, which is Thursday, Dec. 29 and Thursday, Jan. 5.

Residents are also reminded that Livingston’s 2022 Leaf Collection Program has ended and that all property owners must dispose of leaves themselves by placing them in bags at the curb with their regular trash.
The township urges all property owners to make sure they are properly bagging any remaining leaves and that landscapers are aware of this change.
