West Virginia University Recycling Education Event

Faculty, staff and students are invited to join West Virginia University’s Office of Sustainability and several other community partners for an on-campus recycling education event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday (Oct. 17).

The event will be held at the Canady Creative Arts Center parking lot (northern corner near the intersection of Patteson Drive and Monongahela Boulevard).

Stop by the event to ask questions, see a recycling sort in action and learn more about the process and business of recycling.

The event’s centerpiece will be a ‘Roadie’ machine – a mobile recycling sorting facility that will demonstrate how the recycling industry works from individual recyclers through the sorting process to get commodities ready for wholesale.

In addition to the Roadie, interactive educational opportunities will focus on:

  • What can and can’t be recycled on campus,

  • What less-common types of recycling WVU does,

  • How students can recycle if they live off campus,

  • Other recycling opportunities in the greater-Morgantown area.

We look forward to seeing you at the event. In the meantime, visit the Office of Sustainability website for more information and details on how to get involved in sustainability efforts at WVU.
