SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Tire Recycling Foundation (TRF) has announced the theme for its 10th Tire Recycling Conference: “Tread Boldly: Advancing Tire Recycling Through Collective Innovation.” The 2026 event will spotlight the industry’s expanding commitment to building a circular, sustainable system for end-of-life tires (ELTs) through collaboration, research, and innovation.
According to TRF board president Anne Forristall Luke, the biennial conference has, for more than 20 years, served as a central forum for industry leaders, policymakers, and recycling experts to strengthen ELT management and expand markets for recycled rubber. She noted that the 2026 conference aims to mobilize national and state partners around impactful, market-driven solutions.
Insights from the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association’s 2023 ELT Management Report show that tires remain one of the nation’s most recycled materials. Still, ELT generation continues to outpace demand for recycled products, highlighting the need to grow end-use markets such as rubber-modified asphalt, which offers significant economic and environmental benefits.
TRF executive director Stephanie Mull said the theme is a call to action for all stakeholders. The 2026 conference will feature keynotes, technology panels, policy discussions, and networking designed to accelerate ELT market development and advance a circular tire recycling system.
