Tree giveaway and electronic recycling set || Keep Paris Beautiful

Keep Paris Beautiful/Make Lamar County Shine, will give away free trees and offer free electronic recycling at an event planned this Saturday. The event will begin at 9 a.m. in the north parking lot of the Lamar County Courthouse, between N. Main Street. and 1st Street N.W.

Around 1,000 hardwood trees of various types between two to three feet tall will be available to citizens, with each citizen initially allowed to take up to four hardwood trees until officials run out.

As in years past, it’s expected that it won’t take long for all the trees to find new homes.

For questions about the tree giveaway, contact Edwin Pickle at 903-785-6320.

The electronics recycling event will also happen at the same location starting at 8 a.m. Eligible items include computers, televisions, microwave ovens, monitors, printers, etc., and city employees will be available to help unload items.

For questions about the electronics recycling event, contact Robert Talley at 903-784-9219.

Founded in 1999, Keep Paris Beautiful/Make Lamar County Shine is a nonprofit volunteer organization, dedicated to enhancing and preserving our community’s natural beauty.
