SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The renowned American household brand Huggies has partnered with international recycling leader TerraCycle to launch a free recycling program in the U.S.
The Huggies Free Recycling Program will provide an opportunity for participants to recycle outer plastic packaging of Huggies’ baby diapers and wipes. The program will accept other popular Kimberly-Clark brands, including Pull-Ups, Goodnites, U by Kotex, Depend, Poise, Scott, Cottonelle and Viva.

The free recycling program will help to keep more personal care and hygiene products out of landfills and from being incinerated. As per rough estimates, the U.S. recycles only less than half of the packaging waste it produces, including packaging from the baby and personal care industry.
Any interested school, individual or community organization could be part of the Huggies Free Recycling Program. Interested participants could sign up on TerraCycle’s Huggies Free Recycling Program page and send the plastic packaging after downloading a prepaid shipping label. TerraCycle will shred, clean and recycle the materials received to produce raw materials, which in turn could be used to manufacture new products.
