SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): TerraCycle announced that it has partnered with digital platform Saks to launch a new Beauty Recycling Program. The program will allow customers to recycle empty beauty containers either through Saks.com or through Saks Fifth Avenue stores across the U.S.

Customers are required to download prepaid shipping labels via Saks.com, which can be used to mail eligible empty beauty containers. The empty containers could also be dropped off at collection bins placed at stores. All the waste thus collected will be sorted by category and sent to processing centres, where they are transformed to raw resources, which in turn will be used to manufacture new products.

The accepted items include empty hair care, skin care, and cosmetic packaging irrespective of their brand, sold online or from Saks Fifth Avenue retail stores. The program is open to any individual, family, school or community group.

The Saks Beauty Recycling Program provides customers with a convenient recycling solution for a wide variety of empty beauty packaging. The collaboration will help to divert traditionally non-recyclable beauty waste from landfills. The sustainable initiative aims to encourage customers to reduce waste.
