TCG Network Services Hosting Commercial E-Waste Recycling Event Thursday

NATICK – TCG Network Services in Natick is hosting a special Earth Day recycling event for April 22.

The commercial event is open at all MetroWest companies on Thursday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. A table will be set up and staffed behind their 24 Superior Drive location in Natick.

According to their website, local companies can drop off up to 10 electronic devices each, including workstations, laptops, printers, scanners, and flat screen monitors. Televisions and CRT monitors will not be accepted.

“Electronics that can be refurbished will be donated to needy families in Massachusetts. Items that cannot be salvaged will be recycled at our expense,” said TCG Marketing Director Jonathan Browning.

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, all participants must wear masks and maintain safe social distances.

TCG has also committed to taking sanitizing precautions throughout the event.

When asked what makes this year’s effort unique, TCG’s Vice President Jeff Fox responded, “A lot of e-waste can be salvaged. With that in mind, we partnered with a local charity, PCForEveryone.org, to restore refurbishable technology and then donate it to needy families in Massachusetts.”

Fox said “Items that can’t be refurbished will be recycled at TCG’s expense. I do want to emphasize that security is our top priority. Data will be completely destroyed before systems are recycled or restored to working condition.”

In addition to PCForEveryone.org, event sponsors include: the Town of Natick’s Sustainability Committee, MetroWest and Corridor Nine Chambers of Commerce, Dell Inc., and the Better Business Bureau.
