SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Stericycle will pay $2 million in settlement of complaints of overbilling by customers.
According to a New York City Business Integrity Commission (BIC) investigation, the company did not follow BIC regulations. Additionally, it discovered that other clients had been overcharged; they were subsequently repaid. Additionally, the business engaged a consultant to make sure the contracts adhere to accepted practices.
In New York City, Stericycle serves almost 14,000 consumers. The number of clients that complained remained unclear.

According to the business, rectification measures are being taken after discovering a small number of customer contracts that inadvertently violated particular BIC standards.
The audit addressed infractions that took place before WM purchased Stericycle. Additionally, the business is resolving some invoicing concerns that arose during the continuing integration with Stericycle. The CEO of Stericycle, Jim Fish, stated that the company is making great strides in addressing the problems.
Stericycle consented to pay a $9.5 million civil penalty earlier in January of this year for shipping-related infractions at its previous hazardous waste management company. The facility was operated from 2014 until 2020, at which point it was sold to Harsco.
