Senator Gallivan Announces Free Electronics Recycling Event in Henrietta.

Senator Gallivan’s office is pleased to be working with Sunnking to host a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, October 15, in Henrietta.  Residents can drop off and properly dispose of electronic devices free of charge between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Monroe Community College, 1000 E. Henrietta Road, Student Lot M-1.  The event is FREE, but you must register to attend.

Events like this are a great way to safely dispose of old, unwanted electronics and protect our environment at the same time.  Televisions, computers, and other electronics contain materials that are not safe to put in landfills. Under state law, it is illegal to put these items out to the curb with your regular trash.

Sunking will accept almost all devices with a circuit board or a cord, including; computers and computer accessories, printers, ink and toner cartridges, monitors, televisions, microwave ovens, copiers and fax machines, telephones, radios, video and audio equipment, and most small appliances.  Unaccepted items include refrigerators, air conditioners, de-humidifiers, and televisions and monitors with broken glass.

Here’s a list of acceptable and unacceptable materials.  The company also limits tvs and monitors to four per vehicle.
Space is limited, so register to attend today.
