Rogue Disposal successful month accepting mixed-waste papers

JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. -- Rogue Disposal now accepts mixed-waste papers such as junk mail, office paper, magazines and cereal and cracker boxes.

These items were unable to be recycled for a period of time because there were no processing plants in the Pacific Northwest. There is now a market for these recyclables.

Rogue Disposal's Director of Governmental Affairs, Garry Penning, told NewsWatch 12 that they have seen a 12% increase in recycling with little contamination.

"We really haven't seen contamination levels go up, but we'll be watching for that," Penning said.
