Republic Services Targets $1 Billion in M&A During 2025


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): Republic Services anticipates making mergers and acquisitions totaling around $1 billion this year. In 2024, the business invested $358 million in strategic purchases.

The company began the year by acquiring Shamrock Environmental, a prominent industrial and waste water company based in North Carolina. Additionally, it purchased RecycleSource, an MRF operator and carrier with its headquarters in Pittsburgh, this month.

Republic Services exceeded its 2024 guidance with strong quarterly earnings in Q4 of last year. The company recorded a 1.4% increase in its EBITDA margin. Organic growth and acquisitions accounted for 4.5% and 2.6% of revenue growth, respectively. According to a corporate news release, overall volumes for the entire year of 2024 showed a slight 1.1% decrease.

By the end of 2024, the company had 22 stations equipped with commercial-scale electric car charging capabilities and 52 electric collecting trucks. It aims to have 30 locations with charging infrastructure and 150 electric cars in its fleet.

In 2025, Republic anticipates making between $16.85 million and $16.95 million. Over the course of the year, the adjusted EBITDA is anticipated to fall between $5.275 million and $5.325 million. It is estimated that the adjusted free cash flow will be between $2.32 and $2.36 billion.
