EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. — The annual Electronics Recycling Event will take place at the new county building at 99 Troy Road on Saturday, March 23. The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is for Rensselaer County residents only.
“We are asking residents to pay close attention to what can and cannot be accepted. If there are any questions, residents are asked to call ProTek at 518-874-1001. Televisions and CRT monitors of any kind or style will NOT be accepted, but they will take computers, flat screen LCD monitors, VCRs, and old stereo equipment,” added Chairwoman Kelly Hoffman.
County legislators and staff members will help unload vehicles. The site is accessible from the main entrance on Troy Road. Questions about accepted items can be directed to ProTek at (518) 874-1001.
Prohibited items include Televisions(all types), CRT monitors, Alkaline batteries, dishwashers, fluorescent lights and light bulbs, liquid or powdered chemicals, cleaning products or fluids, paint or paint cans, refrigerators, tires, toxic or hazardous materials, wood, glass, or plastic, and any radioactive, volatile, highly flammable, explosive, or biohazardous materials.
