Recycling events: Bike donations Saturday; hazardous waste Nov. 6


Join the Reuse & Recycling Center, at 33 Ryder St.; Bikes Not Bombs and Scout BSA Troupe 303 in collecting bikes for kids and families in Boston and around the world on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 Nov. 6: Season's last household hazardous-waste drop-off

The last hazardous waste collection event for the year is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Minuteman facility in Lexington. 

Help protect your family and the environment from toxic chemicals. Free to Arlington residents, signup required by Nov. 4. The next collection event will be in April.

Nov. 6 Reuse & Recycling Center open; preregistration required.

This monthly Reuse & Recycling Center event at 33 Ryder St. accepts scrap metal, bulky rigid plastic, electronic waste, and much more.

Appointment required at arlingtonma.gov/recycleWeekday appointments are also available for most materials. 

Nov. 6 Medical sharps Collected by Health Department; preregistration required

All new, used and unopened sharps (needles, syringes, lancets, epi-pens, etc.) must be brought to the collection site in FDA approved sharps containers. Loose sharps, sharps in original packaging, or sharps in unapproved containers will not be accepted.

Nov. 6 Secure Document Shredding at Thompson School

From 9  a.m. to noon, A1 Data Shred will again be in town to shred your sensitive documents. There is a two-box limit per car, and cash donations for Arlington EATS and FoodLink will be collected.
