BORDENTOWN, NJ — Recycling will be back on track in Bordentown on July 5. 

According to Burlington County's Facebook page, residents in Bordentown Township, Bordentown City and Fieldsboro can expect to have their recycling picked up by the County on its regularly scheduled day of Monday, July 5.

Recycling collection throughout Burlington County was severely impacted in June because of a nationwide shortage of qualified and trained drivers, forcing the Burlington County Department of Solid Waste to make changes to the recycling pick-up schedules in all towns in the County.

Multiple recycling truck drivers left the Occupational Training Center of Burlington County – the nonprofit that collects and sorts the county’s recyclables – for other employment in May, leaving the agency severely shorthanded.

Bordentown City's Department of Public Works collected City residents' recycling on June 9 and June 23, while Township residents were urged to utilize the Township's recycling center, located at 266 Crosswicks Street, to drop off their recyclables, noting that it is one of the few facilities of its kind in Burlington County.
