New Brunswick Offering 'No Contact' Purchase of Recycling Bins, Leaf Bags

RecyclingMonster - The city's Department of Public Works is making recycling bins and leaf bags available to the public for purchase using the “no contact” transaction guidelines where social distancing is maintained.

Those looking to purchase recycle bins or leaf bags must call the Department of Public Works at 732-745-5105 to place their order. Twenty-gallon recycling bins are available for $9.70 each, 32-gallon bins are $14.68. Payments must be made by check or money order only.

Once the payment is processed, a delivery appointment will be arranged to deliver the order to the purchaser. The item(s) will then be left at the address where the customer can claim it without having any contact with the deliverer.

Each household in New Brunswick is also eligible to receive 20 free leaf bags each year, with the option to buy additional bundles of 10 bags for $5.00 each.

Access to the DPW buildings on Jersey Avenue has been restricted since mid-March due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
