MountainTrue to host holiday recycling event at Hendersonville's Jackson Park on Jan. 8


Environmentally-conscious holiday revelers can reduce waste and pick up nutritious mulch at MountainTrue’s Annual Holiday Recycling Event at Jackson Park in Hendersonville on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers will accept trees and wreaths that have been stripped of decorations, lights, and give back mulch for free, according to a news release.

“This is a great way to keep trees and Christmas decorations out of landfills and reduce waste,” explains Southern Regional Director Gray Jernigan. “It’s become an annual tradition that benefits the community.”

MountainTrue expressed gratitude to its partners. King Hardware & Rental donates the mulcher and Hendersonville and Henderson County personnel are on site to help mulch the trees. Members of the Henderson County Coop Extension Service for the 4-H Project help recycle the lights.
