MOORHEAD — Moorhead is offering pumpkin recycling at four locations from Nov. 7 through Nov. 20.
Pumpkins cannot go into yard waste piles because they are organic waste, the city said in a news release. Instead, pumpkins collected by the city will be composted at a local farmstead.
Pumpkins can be dropped off in designated pumpkin recycling bins at the city's recycling drop-off locations and compost site:
- 700 15th Ave. N., public works maintenance shop
- 418 Elm St. S., Woodlawn Point
- 23rd St. S. and 40th Ave. S., soccer field parking lot
- 809 58th Ave. N., Oakport compost site
Pumpkins should not be put in yard waste roll-off containers and should be free of candles, paint, trash or plastic bags.
