LG Recognized for Commitment to Waste Reduction and Recycling


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): LG Electronics USA, Inc. has been named a ‘2022 Eco-Leader’ by Green Builder Media, in recognition for its commitment to waste reduction and recycling. This is the fourth year in a row that the company has received the prestigious recognition.

The receipt of the 2022 Eco-Leader award demonstrates LG’s continued efforts to enhance sustainability. The company’s waste recycling process prevents trash accumulation at its manufacturing facilities by making use of effective transportation system and innovative recycling techniques. The increased use of recycled materials has boosted the quality of its products including refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, gaming monitors and televisions.

Thomas Yoon, President and CEO of LG Electronics North America noted that the company achieved record consumption of 51,128 tons of recycled plastics in its various products over the period of past four years. Moreover, the company has reduced use of packaging material by almost 8.6% and its packaging volume by nearly 2.8%, he added.

Meantime, Sara Gutterman, CEO, Green Builder Media commended LG’s efforts to continuously refine its practises and reinvent its processes to reduce its environmental impacts.
