Hopewell Township to hold electronics recycling event Saturday


HOPEWELL TWP. — Those looking to dispose of electronics and help the environment will have their chance to recycle Saturday in Hopewell Township

The Hopewell Municipal Building will serve as the base of operations for an e-Waste Recycling Drive from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., taking care of electronic items that are no longer needed. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of Hopewell Park, Scouts Troop 435 and Scouts Pack 435.

The following items will be accepted at no charge:

  • DVD/VHS Players
  • MP3 Players
  • Cell Phones
  • Small Household Appliances without Freon
  • CPUs, Monitors, Mice and Keyboards
  • Cable Boxes, Modems and Switches
  • Laptops and Servers
  • Printers and Scanners
  • Video Game Systems, Controllers and Other Attachments
  • Household Batteries (packages separately)

Larger items, including air conditioners, mini-refrigerators, dehumidifiers and appliances with Freon will cost $25 to recycle. TVs are also accepted for a $25 charge, but are limited to one per car. The recycling event will not accept large refrigerators, chest freezers or car batteries.

No appointments are necessary for the event. Recyclers can call 724-462-6236 with any questions about the recycling drive.
