To qualify for Bronze Certification, municipalities must complete verified sustainability actions centered on people, prosperity, and the planet.

Hopewell Township received special recognition for its work in recycling, natural resource protection, energy efficiency, and community outreach. Committee Member Uma Purandare emphasized that these collective efforts are making visible community impacts.

This year, 83 municipalities earned Sustainable Jersey certification, including 52 Bronze and 31 Silver recipients. With 191 certified towns statewide, the program remains a leading model for local sustainability and climate resilience.
