GFL Environmental Completes SECURE Waste Infrastructure Acquisition

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): GFL Environmental Inc. Announced that it has completed acquisition of SECURE Waste Infrastructure Corp. The deal expands its operations and customer reach across the waste management and infrastructure services sector.

The transaction was funded through a mix of GFL’s revolving credit facility, newly issued GFL subordinate voting shares and a new US$1 billion senior secured term loan. The financing for the acquisition was completed at the end of August and was reportedly significantly oversubscribed. GFL said the transaction did not affect its credit rating.

GFL said more than 2,000 SECURE employees will join its workforce. SECURE management, including Allen Gransch, will continue to work under GFL ownership.

GFL CEO and founder Patrick Dovigi said the acquisition will substantially increase the company’s scale and capital deployment capacity. The company expects the deal to accelerate progress toward its previously announced multi-year financial targets.

SECURE’s common shares are expected to be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange around September 2, 2026. GFL shares issued to SECURE shareholders are also expected to begin trading on the TSX and NYSE under the ticker GFL around the same date.
