SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): A special electronics recycling event will be held at the Port Washington Food Pantry at 1777 W. Grand Avenue in Port Washington from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 13.

Items such as flat-screen TVs, laptops and cell phones, printers and stoves are accepted for free, but residents are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items and/or monetary donations to the food pantry in exchange for recycling.

Eligible items for this event can be found at www.ozaukeecounty.gov/2577/Clean-Sweep-Program. In addition, Mequon later this summer will be adding an electronics recycling collection site at the Department of Public Works as a result of the agreement approved by the city’s Common Council on May 12 with Com2 Recycling Solutions. According to the city, DPW will start preparing the collection site by paving and enclosing a dedicated area. Once ready, Com2 Recycling Solutions will service the site by emptying the collection bin and recycling eligible items.
