Electronics Recycling Event Set for Saturday, May 1st


The City of Salida has partnered with Salida Business Alliance, Salida Chamber of Commerce, and Sustainable Salida to host an electronics and appliance recycling Earth Day event.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 1, from 9 am to 1 pm at Marvin Park, 900 W. First St., Salida.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Televisions (There is a $25 fee per television for proper recycling. All other items are free to drop off)
  • Stoves
  • Ovens
  • Dishwashers
  • Washing machines
  • Dryers
  • Refrigerators
  • Freezers
  • Microwave Ovens
  • Computer Monitors
  • Computers
  • Any electronic device that plugs in or runs on batteries
  • Vehicle batteries

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Household chemicals
  • Paint
  • Fuel cans
  • Propane bottles
  • Light bulbs or anything containing mercury
  • General household trash and recycling that would normally be picked up by residential trash service
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors

Please follow the flow of traffic and stay in your vehicle. If dropping off a television, you may pay with cash, check, or credit card (payable to 3R Technology Solutions). When you reach the recycling trailer, please remain in your vehicle. Volunteers will remove the electronics and appliances from your vehicle.

Electronics will be recycled by 3R Technology Solutions, a Colorado-registered electronics recycler, as required by Colorado law. All electronics will be recycled responsibly, and all hard drives will be shredded to ensure privacy.
