EEQ Launched New Campaign to Boost Quebec Recycling

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading private non-profit organization Eco Enterprises Quebec (EEQ) announced launch of a new campaign aimed at improving recycling habits of residents in Quebec province. The ‘Bin Impact’ initiative will focus on educating general public on proper sorting of recyclables and highlight on the importance of responsible recycling.

As part of the campaign, EEQ plans to broadcast across various communication media including televisions, radio, social media and print platforms. These will emphasize the fact that recycling bins are capable to receive only recyclable containers, packaging, and printed matter. It will encourage residents to follow best recycling practices, thus ensuring that recyclable materials get a new life.

The launch of the campaign follows disappointing results by a recent survey carried out by Leger about recycling habits of Quebecers. The survey had revealed that only a small fraction of residents verifies materials for their recyclability before they are disposed of. Also, the survey highlighted the huge gap in recycling knowledge among participants.

By focusing on the importance of sorting, EEQ intends to improve the quantity and quality of recyclables.
