Under a newly signed 10-year agreement, Cyclic Materials will utilize its proprietary recycling technology to process all magnet production byproducts from Vac’s upcoming manufacturing plant in Sumter, South Carolina, the company confirmed in a news release. The Sumter facility is scheduled to open by the end of this year.

The expanded partnership marks another milestone in Cyclic Materials’ strategy to strengthen its North American recycling and supply network. The company is also preparing to launch its first U.S.-based recycling facility in Mesa, Arizona, next year—further enhancing its ability to support domestic critical mineral recovery and circularity.

Vac is a global leader in high-performance magnetic materials, supplying key industries such as automotive, defense, industrial, and renewable energy. The extended agreement underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable manufacturing and resource efficiency within the growing clean energy supply chain.
