JACKSON TWP. – Goodwill Industries is partnering with several other organizations for a community recycling event Saturday morning at Stark State College.
Canton-based Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is hosting the event, while the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Recycling District is serving as sponsor. The event is from 9 a.m. to noon on the campus at 6200 Frank Ave. NW.
Area residents who drop off items to be recycled are asked to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Stark Hunger Task Force, which will have a truck at the event.
Residents have an opportunity to recycle clothing, household items, working and non-working electronics, eyeglasses and hearing aids. On-site document destruction will be available, and there will be safe way to dispose of prescription pills.
Other partners in the event are the Jackson Township Lions Club, Recycle for Sight, Jackson Township Police Department, Stark County Sheriff’s Department and Shred Smart.
“This exciting event offers community members a chance to help the environment and support a variety of organizations,” said Bryant Taylor, Goodwills vice president of donated goods.
