Coconut Creek Announced Launch of New Glass Recycling Program

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The City of Coconut Creek announced launch of a new glass recycling program. The South Recycling Drop-Off Center, located behind the local police department at 4800 West Copans Road will now accept glass items for recycling from residents and businesses. The Center will be open Friday through Sunday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The items accepted include various glass containers, including soda and beer bottles, juice bottles, mason jars, liquor, wine, condiment bottles and glassware. However, items such as mirrors, automotive glass, dishware, light bulbs, crystal, tempered glass, and plastic bags will not be accepted. The materials must be free from contamination. The press release urged residents and business to contribute to environmental conservation by participating in the program.

The glass recycling program has been introduced in partnership with leading glass recycling service provider Strategic Materials, Inc. The collected glass at the drop-off center will be processed and sent to its Sarasota office.

Residents need to present proof of residency, while businesses are required to show a copy of business tax receipt, to participate in the program.
