Circular Action Alliance Opens Five New RecycleOn Centers in Deschutes County

SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The Circular Action Alliance (CAA) has announced the opening of five new RecycleOn Centers in Deschutes County, marking a major step in Oregon’s modernized recycling system. Launched statewide on July 1, the program aims to provide consistent and convenient recycling access to all Oregonians.

These new RecycleOn Centers offer free drop-off recycling for items not accepted in home or business curbside bins, helping residents recycle additional materials safely and efficiently. The Centers operate in partnership with existing recycling facilities and are part of a broader plan to establish more than 140 locations statewide by 2027.

Deschutes County locations include Bend (Knott Landfill and Republic Services on Montana Way), La Pine (Southwest Transfer Station), Redmond (Negus Transfer Station), and Sisters (Northwest Transfer Station).

“RecycleOn Centers give Oregonians the opportunity to recycle more items, reduce contamination, and protect recycling operations and workers,” said Kim Holmes, Oregon Executive Director at CAA. Accepted items include plastic bags, stretchy plastics, lids, package handles, buckets, shredded paper, and aluminum foil and trays.
