Cayuga County to Host Electronics Recycling Collection Events


SEATTLE (Recycling Monster): The schedule for Cayuga County's next spring electronics recycling pickup events was released by Cayuga Recycles. Only County residents will be able to attend the activities, which are scheduled on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Companies are not permitted to take part in these activities.

From 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Cayuga Community College, located at 197 Franklin St. in Auburn, will accept unwanted electronic garbage. Registration is required for this event. Similar collection events will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the county highway garage located at 2601 Ira Hill Road, Cato, and at 2942 the county highway garage located at Long Hill Road, Venice Center. For these activities, registration is not required.

Computers and accessories, data center equipment, office equipment, home appliances, lab and medical equipment, entertainment equipment, cable equipment, mobile devices, and other items like GPS units, fitness trackers, smart watches, power tools, and rechargeable dry cell batteries are all welcome at the three event venues mentioned above.

Devices containing mercury, refrigerant, liquids, radioactive materials, or PCBs, however, will not be allowed at the event. Medical sharps, heavy equipment, and toxic household garbage are also prohibited.
