This Saturday the City of Florence will host a black and white recycling event.  The event is an opportunity for households to dispose of large items such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, hot water heaters and smaller appliances like toasters and vacuum cleaners. 

They will also take automobile tires with or without the rims up to a 22 inch diameter.  The city will also allow the recycling of up to 3 5 gallon empty propane tanks per household.  The event will be from 9 am until 1pm and will be located at the Siuslaw Middle School Parking lot on Oak and 27th street. 

There is no charge for this event.  Local businesses and individuals will be volunteering to help unload items.
