The Orland Township Highway Department's Shred Event Was A Success


TINLEY PARK, IL — The Orland Township Highway Department's Shred Event held on Oct. 23 had massive success, according to Commissioner Antonio Rubino's office.

At the event, 30,000 papers were shredded and 250 pounds of prescription drugs were collected, the commissioner's office said. Along with that, 15,840 pounds of electronics and 750 pounds of cardboard were recycled.

"It was an honor to partner with State Representative Bob Rita, the Cook County Sheriff's Office, Tinley Park Park District and eWorks for such a successful event," Rubino said. "I am happy we could provide a safe and secure recycling, shredding and prescription drug drop off for our residents. After all, we are all in this together!"

The event was held at Grissom Middle School located at 17000 S. 80th Ave., Tinley Park.
